BMW Motorrad has showcased the India-bound G 310 GS and G 310 R
BMW’s G 310 R had a lot riding on its shoulder as it was pegged as the most affordable bike from the German brand for India. However, with its Rs 3 lakh price tag, the BMW G 310 R was far from affordable and as expected remained a niche product. 2020 has been a year of surprises and one of the pleasant ones was the fact that BMW not only reduced the prices for the G 310 R massively but it also added new features like an LED headlight and adjustable levers. At the same time, the most value for money bike of the segment, the KTM 390 Duke has been on a price hike spree over the past year. Yes, the BS6 update did bring about a significant price hike, which was expected, but post that also KTM has been increasing prices on a regular basis. In fact, the 2021 KTM 390 Duke is more expensive than the 2021 BMW G 310 R. The revision price has made the baby Beemer a tempting motorcycle. But along with the BMW badge, comes a hefty after sales bill and that’s one key aspect why buyers stayed away from the G 310 R. In this video we take a look at the spare parts cost of the BMW G 310 R and how it compares to the 390 Duke. And more importantly what’s the cost of servicing both the bikes. Will BMW spring a surpsise?
